The Yamaha R125 is a fully-faired sports bike available in 1 variant. R125 generates 15 HP @ 9000 rpm of power and 11.5 Nm @ 8000 rpm of torque from its 124.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valves, fuel injection, liquid-cooled engine. YZF R125 has a 6-speed manual gearbox (Yamaha R125’s top speed is 120 km/h) with both rear and front disk brakes and also has a dual-channel ABS (anti-locking braking system). Available in 3 colours. This is the first-ever high-performance VVA system that provides torque for ease of use even at low RPM. There are two intake valve cams one for low- to mid-range rpm and another for high rpm. They switch between each other at the 7,400 rpm mark to ensure good power and torque are present throughout the entire rev range.
First up is a Racing Blue colour with grey on the front fender, tail section, and as graphics on the fairing. This paint scheme is inspired by its bigger siblings, the YZF-R1 and YZF-R6. The other colour option consists of full black with white lines on the front fairing and tail section. Yamaha has also kitted this colour with golden forks that increase its appeal.
While the 2024 Yamaha YZF-R125 will be available globally by the end of this year, it is unlikely to make its way to India anytime soon. Currently, the R15 V3 is the Japanese manufacturer’s entry-level motorcycle in the fully-fairing segment in India.
